Tripura Bamboo Park
The Tripura Bamboo Park is the first of its kind in India to promote eco-friendly bamboo based high value products. The park has been designed to capture the natural and eco-friendly attributes and aesthetics of bamboo. It has State-of-Art In fracture, amenities, common facilities, technology and support facilities to promote a green bamboo industrial zone in the State of Tripura. The Park has the important advantage of in fracture and steady source of quality of bamboo Clusters in the state for easy procurement of semi finished bamboo products.
Tripura Bamboo Park is located around 20 km west of Agartala city at R.K Nagar, adjacent to Bodhjungnagar Industrial Growth Centre. The Bodhjungnagar Industrial belt is the most planned and equipped Industrial Zone in NE India that has large conglomeration of small and medium industries under operation. Bodhjungnagar industrial zone, has availability of piped natural gas, electrical power supply proximity to railway terminal, connected to NH with 2-Lane all weather road: only 25 km from Agartala airport.
The Master plan for the Bamboo Park is over 64 acres out of which 22.5 acres will be developed in the first phase. The total cost of the Project is estimated at Rs. 29.36 crores. The foundation stone for Tripura Bamboo Park was laid by Shri Manik Sarkar, Hon'ble Chief Minister on 27th January, 2012 at R.K Nagar. The Tripura Bamboo Park is already attracting investors to set up units in the proposed Park. Promotion & awareness for attracting investors are done by organizing one-to-one business meets, participating in business shows etc. The state government through TBM, TIDC and Industries Department is attracting investors through different schemes to invest in the Bamboo Park.
Honourable Chief Minister Shri Manik Sarkar inaugurated the Rs.25 crore ($4 million) bamboo flooring tiles factory of Mutha Industries pvt. Ltd, at Bamboo Park at Bodhjungnagar, on 2nd February, 2014. The unit which employs German,Taiwanese and Chinese technologies, is now fully operational.
